SHERMAN, Tex. -- A Denison pharmacy technician dies after being ejected from her SUV.

It happened just after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, on U.S. Highway 82 at Hazelwood Road in Sherman.

DPS officials say 30-year-old Kelli Harrison was headed east on U.S. Highway 82 when she drove off the road into a ditch, over-corrected, and then rolled twice.

Troopers say Harrison was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected, causing severe head trauma. She was taken to Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman, where she later died.

U.S. Highway 82 was shut down in both directions for a time but has since reopened.

DPS, Grayson County deputies and fire departments from Sherman, Sadler and Whitesboro responded. Troopers are still investigating the cause of that crash.

I am so sick of people saying that Kelli should have worn her seatbelt. My son was in a accident 2 months ago in Howe on 75 and they said at first he did not have his seatbelt on.After further investgation, which was almost 2 weeks after the accident, it was proven that he did have a seatbelt on.During the accident the seatbelt had been released. So all of you out there need to keep her comments to yourself about the whole seatbelt thing. Kelli always wore her seatbelt. And none of you were in the car with her to say that she didn't have it on.Kelli will always be remember in our hearts.

Today, we the family and friends said goodbye to Kelli. She will be missed by all who knew her.She was always wanting to help me and saying Danica let someone help you sometime. When she and my son got there home together, she fixed a great Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. She was famous for her carrot cake.My husband and family even had Easter dinner because of Kelli.Kelli appeared in court on my behalf to get disability. She was a pharmacy tech in Allen also before going to Kroger. Everytime I rode with Kelli, she was always wearing a seatbelt.Kelli was a loving mother that was not just a "Soccer Mom".She was also her children's coach when they played in Bonham.Karen, Kala, Alisa, Leah, Bill and Darline, our thoughts and prayers are with you.Kelli touched us all and will not be forgotten. And to the lady who stopped and talked of her blue eyes, my prayers and thoughts go out to you. I know that it is something you will never forget. Love, Bill,Danica,Cosmo,Jordan, and Katelyn

To Annonymous at 9:36 --I have lived off highway 82 for 30 years and been driving it since it was built - 40 years ago - I know because my son is 40 and was a baby when it was being built. You must have your highways mixed up - not that it matters.

Posted by: DUH Location: Grayson on Oct 10, 2008 at 05:58 PM
Annonymous, I am surely glad your job doesn't require command of the language.Seatbelts aren't only necessary, but are the LAW!!You go nursie.

Posted by: Annonymous Location: Sherman, Texas on Oct 9, 2008 at 08:00 PM
For those of you who want to be critical, Kelli almost always wore her seat belt. This accident is senseless and the comments from those of you who want to be rude is uncalled for is uncalled for. YOU DO NOT KNOW THE CIRCUMSTANCES. i AM A REGISTERED CRITICAL CARE NURSE AND HAVE SEEN MANY ACCIDENTS WITH SEAT BELTS CAUSE JUST AS MUCH DAMAGE IF NOT MORE WHEN PEOPLE ARE TRAPPED IN THE CARE.

TO ANONYMOUS FROM 9:36 A.M. the accident happened west of sherman on hwy 82 about 1/4 mile east of old southmayde road. i saw the scene myself. being 40 years old and have been driving on hwy 82 since age 16, do the math. you must be thinking of the other NEW 82 east of sherman which is notorious for traffic wrecks as well. your welcome. thoughts for Kelli's family and safety

I'm not "dunno" but I also have been driving that stretch of highway for way more than 20 years. Sorry, Anon @ 936, you must be thinking of the wrong highway.

You have many thoughts and prayers lifted up for you and your family. It is none of my business, but I pray those little girls are well cared for by a family member and have a great support system. Life is hard enough without having to deal with this. May God be with all of you.Let me apologize for some of the ignorance posted here. Most people just dont think about how something sounds before they say it-or blog it. Most dont intend to be hurtful. May God be with you and yours.

To the person who said "get off your soapbox about seatbelts".Please people, this lady could have survived this had she had one on!I don't think anyone can stress enough, WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS! Sure they can be uncomfortable, but you wouldn't want to ride with me. I won't start my vehicle until all are buckled up.I don't care if she was a pharmacy tech, she is gone. My heart goes out to her surviving family, even if she was a cleaning lady! We all need to encourage our loved ones to wear the stinking seatbelt, and SLOW down.

Who really gives a d*#n if anyone you know knew her or not? You sound like an idiot. She was a pharmacy tech. Period. Just because someone said she was a pharmacy tech, and no one you know knew her, you go looking up her license? Are you into conspiracy theories or something? Gheez! The poor woman had a terrible accident and left three young children without a mother. Say a prayer for them all and quit trying to make something out of nothing. To the family of Kelli - I will keep your family in my prayers, I am so sorry for your tragic loss. I am also sorry you have to deal with some of the ridiculous comments on here. Forgive them for their ignorance.

A heartfelt thank you to the person who stopped and gave CPR. Kelli was my niece and she leaves behind 3 little girls. If you can give us any more info about when you stopped it would be a blessing. Thank You

Kelli and I worked together for about 9 months at Kroger Pharmacy in Denison, she was a dear friend to me and I know that she only had the thought of what will happen to her children when she passed. She will be greatly missed and her family and friends are all in my prayers. Rest In Peace Kelli You will be missed.

I don't believe you need a licence to be a tech in the pharmacy

Posted by: concerned Location: sadler on Oct 8, 2008 at 08:17 PM
i am concerned about what Stacy has mentioned, the poor girl is rolling her suv in the view of her husbands mirrors and instead of turning around or backing up to check on her wellbeing ,, he drives down the road to find a cop to tell him that she rolled ? on hwy 82 there is no cops for miles,, an occasional trooper. so how far did he drive to report such an incident? to bonham? should her husband not be charged with fleeing the scene of an accident? he saw it happen but drove away to find help? he could have been there to help save her life cos a quadbillion people have cellphones and im sure they all called 911 for help instead of driving miles to find a cop. what a tragic situation for kelli and stacy's husband.

everyone is saying that txdot should do something about this stretch of road,, what? what should they do? i drive the road everyday and have been for twenty years and nothing is wrong with the road. has had some updates from time to time. but in the least is a heck of a lot better than concrete hwy 75. the only thing txdot could do to prevent accidents or fatalaties on hwy 82 is to put up ROAD CLOSED signs and not allow people to drive cause its not txdot crashing motorist vehicles,, its the people themselves. the speed limit being 70mph is a huge factor, a limited response time at that speed shows to be fatal. wish people would stop blaming txdot for accidents that they cant control, if there were a gigantic pothole in the road that she hit and lost control then there would be a question. but the only question would be is why did she not take adverse action to avoid it. txdot job is to help make the roads smoother for your driving experience. not make you a safe driver .

To Anonymous who did CPR:I will pray for you as well. It is very difficult to have that scene replayed in your minds eye. Thank God you were there. HE had you there for a reason. May God give all involved comfort.

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 8, 2008 at 05:25 PM
Then what's the point of them pointing out she was a pharmacy technician? I know many pharmacy techs in this area and none of them know who she was.

Posted by: ME Location: HERE on Oct 8, 2008 at 03:45 PM
Honestly, who cares if her name is not showing up on the Tx state board of pharmacy???? This young lady died and your worried about her license???? Give me a break you idiot!

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 8, 2008 at 03:10 PM
I was right infront of Kelli when I saw her go off the rode to the right and then over correct and flip two times and the third landed up right and was ejected. I was first on scene and rolled her over and began cpr. I was and am devestated about the accident. She was young and beautiful. I will never forget those amazing blue eyes staring up at me. My heart goes out to her family and children. I will pray for you all and you will ALWAYS be in my memory. Kelli, you have change my life. I will always wear my seat belt, love with all my heart and Live my life for our God.

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 8, 2008 at 02:52 PM
Was she a technician from this area? Her name is not showing up on the Texas State Board of Pharmacy website as having a license.

I don't think the highway is to blame for a lot of these wrecks. RIP Kelli.

to Kelli's family -- she did not work with us very long, and we were just getting to know her. But she did touch us all in different ways. We will miss her. Our hearts go out to all of you.

My family and I were hit by a drunk driver about 9 years ago. We rolled an SUV 7 times. My sister and her husband were both ejected, both were wearing their seatbelts. Had the bruises to prove it, but they were still ejected. So how do they know she wasn't wearing her seatbelt?

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 8, 2008 at 10:19 AM
yes another bad wreck on this hwy 82 east...how many people are going to die before they do something.i have lost count on the wrecks since this stretch of hwy opened up.my son lost a dear friend only 20 years old in 2004 on this hwy.

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 8, 2008 at 10:09 AM
She has 3 young children. One is in my daughters class. These girls will never be the same. Get off your freakin sopabox about seatbelts and think about if you had to go through life without a mother and father who is in jail.

Posted by: stacy Location: sadler on Oct 8, 2008 at 09:36 AM
This was so sadmy husband was on his way to our sons football practic and was just a few feet in front of this woman he saw it all in his mirror. My husband saw a cop and stopped him to let him know that she had just rolled. My heart goes out to her family. Please remember to wear your seat belt it could save your life....

Posted by: Fozzy Location: Ardmore on Oct 8, 2008 at 09:31 AM
Dang people! How many of these examples do we need for people to start using their seatbelts. The last thing that this woman had on her mind was dieing this horribly and now everyone in her life has to deal with her senseless tragic death. Think of your family and friends if not for yourself.

Posted by: RC Location: Grayson County on Oct 8, 2008 at 09:13 AM
So how many is that this year alone, when do the tragedies stop. Why hasn't TxDot done something. Maybe barriers of some type wouldn't have saved this girls, but how many people have to die before something is done. This road is getting more dangerous by the day. My prayers go out to this girls family...

My prayers go out to the family and friends of this lady. My god comfort you in your time of loss.
