ARDMORE, OK -- The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office will ask a forensic anthropologist to help identify a human skull found in an Ardmore creek by a group of children last week.

A group of kids stumbled upon some bones late Thursday afternoon, in the 300 block of F Street Southeast and 3rd Avenue.

Detectives searched the brush around the creek bed for additional clues, but say nothing was found.

Several agencies responded, including the Carter County Medical Examiner, and determined those bones are human.

Investigators say they are not sure how the remains ended up there or who they belong to.

That area is a known drug area. It's within a block where those drug dealers beat that one guy to death. During that period of time, there were at least 4 drug houses within a block of each other. That current body is right in the middle.

I am sure there are several families who have had a relative just disappear for no apparent reason who may find closure. Many in Grayson County who did not even know Una Mae Herd would like to have the mystery of her disappearance solved. I cannot imagine anyone bothering an 83 y/o woman. There is also the teacher that disappeared from Denton County. I hope it will give a family somewhere peace to know their loved one has been found.

What's the matter with you? That discovery is not funny at all. It's sad to know that someone lay there all that time and nobody knew. Who knows? Maybe no one even bothered to look for this person. I hope not though. That would be even worse.
