Dickson Crash Claims Third Victim

7-7-06 - A 9-year-old boy passed away on Friday - two days after his father and brother were killed in the same car wreck. Luke Mays died at O.U. Childrens Hospital. His family says he was an organ donor.

Funeral arrangements have been made for Luke, his father, Jason and brother, Caleb who both died at the scene of the crash near Dickson on Highway 199.

The family was in a Ford F-250 that was hit head-on by a semi-truck on highway 199 Wednesday afternoon.

The driver of the semi crossed the center line and will be cited for going left of center.

33-year-old Jason Mays and his 6-year-old son Caleb died at the scene.
Mays' wife, Debra, was taken to a local hospital while her 6-year-old daughter Hanna was criticaly injured, but is recovering after surgery to her ankles and legs.

Funeral arrangments for Jason, Caleb, and Luke are set for Tuesday, July 11th at 10am at the Mannsville Assembly of God church.

Jason left the Dickson police department several years ago for a job at Michelin and to pursue a criminology degree.
