Two upper level waves will interact with a warm and very moist air mass to generate thunderstorms through Saturday. Lightning and torrential rainfall that could cause flash flooding are the primary threats...with a secondary threat of damaging winds. Turn around, don't drown!
7-14-06 - A fire broke out in an exhaust vent at the Fisher Controls Plant in south Sherman Friday morning. Firefighters had the fire under control within a half hour, but it kept employees out of the building until the afternoon.
Fire crews received the call about 11:20 AM. More than 300 employees were evacuated, but were allowed to return to work by midafternoon.
Officials say volitile fumes from equipment ignited in the vent.
Emerson Process Management manufactures valve processing parts at the plant.
