With just four days until the general election, Oklahomans can start voting early Friday, and it’s the last chance for Texans to do so.

People standing in line to vote early is a sight many in Carter County say they have never seen. More than 800 people casted their votes Friday in Ardmore.

Carter County election officials say they have never seen anything like quite this year. Day One of early voting set new records.

“It seems like every big election we have an outpouring of new voters, but this is the most,” Carter County elections secretary Helen McReynolds said.

Carter County resident Hazel Duncan says this year is quite different from the previous times she has come in to vote early.

“Last time I came in and there was about two people in there when I was voting," Duncan said.

Ms. Duncan says the large crowds are a welcome change.

"Things have changed, and people keep coming to vote, and that's good."

Early voting continues in Oklahoma Saturday and Monday. We also spoke with election officials in Johnston, Love, Marshall, Murray, and Pontotoc counties. They all reported numbers three and four times higher than what they saw in the last presidential election..

In Texas, early voting ends Friday, and some 2.7 million Texans have already voted.

Texans can go to their county courthouse or sub courthouse to vote early until 5 p.m. Friday.

The general election is Tuesday, November 4.

Go to kfor.com or votesmart.com to see a poll concerning our candidates, and elected officals in OK City, are not responding to our issues. I don't know why 12 or 10 isn't running this, hope this gets through.
