7-24-06 The Bryan County Sheriff’s Office is down one patrol car after if burst into flames on Friday.
All that's left of the 2005 Crown Victoria is a charred frame.
The deputy driving was looking for a stolen vehicle, and during the investigation, drove onto rough roads. At one point the car got stuck.
The sheriff says it's likely the catalytic converter started the fire which consumed the car in moments.
The deputy was able to save the guns and a laptop inside. He's OK.
