7-26-07 Last night's election brought good news for Ardmore city leaders; a half-cent sales tax to improve the water and wastewater treatment passed easily.
And today in the 29th annual state of the city luncheon, they looked forward to even higher goals for the future.
The city has a long list of accomplishments to brag about this year: A new water park, $5 million worth of infrastructure improvements, a four year university coming to town, and of course MG.
But as folks celebrate the past, they must look to the future.
To city leaders, retail is the lifeblood of progress. They're determined to entice department stores, restaurants and a new movie theatre to move in so consumers will spend their hard earned dollars in town.
