07-27-06 - City officials in Denison and Pottsboro asked residents to reduce their water usage and avoid all outside watering on Thursday after a major water line ruptured. Crews were able to repair it by sundown though.
Officials say it happened just before noon on Thursday at the Denison's main water treatment plant. A 13 foot long pipe that was 20 inches in diameter split. Crews suspect it happened because the pipe was so old and the ground was so dry. The pipe transfers water from Lake Randell to the water treatment plant.
