7-30-06 – A Sulphur man was killed in a crash early Sunday morning. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Rene Diaz-Gomez died at the scene of the crash that occurred around 6:00 a.m. on US177 in Murray County.
Troopers say Diaz-Gomez was the driver of a car that ran off the highway, hit a fence and then crashed into a tree.
Three other passengers were in the vehicle. Two were flown to the hospital in stable condition. The other passenger was treated and released from a local hospital.
Troops say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
