ARDMORE, Okla. ― Christmas is just around the corner, and Texomans are known for their charity and hospitality. A local family is in desperate need of help, and one woman is trying to come to the rescue. Daniel Armbruster has more.

You don't have to travel far to find someone in economic distress. The Turner family in Ardmore is currently living in a camper right now. With Christmas around the corner, they want a home to live in for their three kids, and with a little luck and prayer, Christmas may come early this year.

It's a story heard more and more these days ―a family unable to find work.

"My kids have never experience this before and it is hard and its hard for me as a father to have them experience this," Justin Turner says.

The Turner family says they were doing just fine. Justin turner found a job in Florida, but when the family moved, their nightmare began.

They were left with no choice but to sell everything they had and move back to Ardmore in a camper.

"Nothing works. It’s basically a shell. I mean the hot water heater for the shower doesn’t work, the air conditioning doesn’t work, the furnace doesn’t work, the stove don’t work, can’t cook. I am thankful that it is a place that we can lay our heads down at night."

They want to find a home for their three children, and with one woman's help, it may be possible. Ardmore resident Bennie Webb is terminally ill. She wants to move away to see her family and has offered her home to the Turners for as long as they need. She is too frail, and did not want to be on camera, but her friend spoke about her.

“Oh she’s sweet, kind, generous, she loves kids, animals. She’s just a wonderful woman."

This could be good news for the Turners.

"It’s a blessing, yeah. That’s all I can say. It’s enough room for our children for Christmas. That’s what we prayed about."

There are a few legal issues that still have to be dealt with, but if everything works out, The Turners hope to move into the house in about two weeks.
