Ada Death Blamed on Heat

8-4-06- The death of a 78-year-old woman in Ada is being blamed on the heat. The woman was found on the couch in her Ada home just after noon Thursday. The home had a working air conditioner, but it was not turned on.

Neighbors say they couldn't contact Elizabeth Casebier for more than a day and went to check on her.

Friday, the State Medical Examiner's Office ruled heat the cause of death. According to that office, 18 people in the state have died from the heat this year.

Very hot temperatures are to continue through the weekend. The
National Weather Service says Saturday and Sunday are to be partly
cloudy with highs from the mid 90s to 103 degrees both days.
