A combination of very strong winds, falling temperatures and frozen precipitation will make Wednesday and Wednesday night dangerous for motorists. Freezing rain and sleet will change to snow before ending late Wednesday or early Thursday. Wind chills of 5 to 10 degrees...with air temperatures in the low 20s...can be expected. Roads will be icy Thursday morning but should melt during the day as skies clear and temperatures rise above freezing.
8-12-06 – Southbound traffic on Highway 67-75 was down to one lane in Bryan county Saturday morning, after a semi-truck spilled its load of plastic water pipes.
Troopers say the truck driver lost control of his 18-wheeler between Colbert and Calera around 8:30 a.m. The truck rolled onto the shoulder, leaving a mess on the highway.
The Highway Patrol says the combination of speed and slick roads caused the wreck.
Traffic was down to one lane for several hours as crews cleaned up the mess.
The trucker was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
