SOUTHMAYD, Tex. -- Three teens were hospitalized Monday night after their truck crashed in Southmayd.

It happened near Highway 82 and Old Southmayd Road. Texas State Troopers say a 15-year-old girl was driving a 4-door Dodge pickup East on Highway 82 from Whitesboro. They say she went to light a cigarette and lost control, rolling the truck three times.

The driver was trapped in the truck for an hour, and a 15-year-old passenger was thrown 100 feet from the truck.

Both the driver and that passenger were taken by Lifestar to Methodist Hospital in Dallas. Another passenger was taken to Wilson N. Jones.

No word on their conditions at this time.
