LAKE TEXOMA, Okla. (AP) - Officials say three private developers are interested in buying and developing the state-owned lodge, park and land at Lake Texoma.
The Commissioners of the Land Office is offering 750 acres of lakefront property for private development.
The land office agreed earlier this year to a 350 (m) million dollar resort deal with Connecticut-based Gagne Development. But the deal fell through when Gagne couldn't come up with one (m) dollars in earnest money.
Land office secretary Clifton Scott says two of the three developers now making offers are based in Oklahoma.
Lake Texoma Development Company was created this month by Oklahoma City oilman Charles Harding and Kingston-based Texoma Development Company.
The third developer is Connecticut-based Caliber Development which bought Gagne's original plan and modified it.
Scott says details of the bids will be presented to land office commissioners when they meet September 14th.
