Gas Prices Drop as Holiday Approaches

08-25-06 - The worst may be over as far as gasoline prices are concerned. Triple A says the cost of a gallon of gas has plunged almost $0.09 in the past week to an average of $2.89. Spokesman Mantill Williams says with the summer driving season now behind us, we've probably passed the high point for gas. At the same time, he says he wouldn't rule out a future price spike, given the geopolitical situation and the energy infrastructure.
