8-27-06 – Firefighters from three Grayson County fire departments put out a blaze that destroyed a mobile home near Lake Texoma Sunday afternoon. The fire broke out at around 1:00 p.m. at a home at the Henderson Camp Park on Highport Road.
Firefighters say the home owner had just set off “bug bombs” to kill insects in the kitchen area before leaving the weekend home. About twenty minutes later, neighbors reported smoke coming from the home. Firefighters say they believe a stove pilot light may have ignited the flames.
Firefighters from Preston, Locust, and Pottsboro put out the fire in about twenty minutes. No one was hurt, but the home is a total loss.
