Students Support School President

09-14-06 - Murray State students are worried their president is being asked to step down and are prepared to fight for his job.

There's been talk on campus that the board of regents is unhappy with Dr. Bill Pennington’s performance and have asked him to resign.

Now students are showing their support by organizing rallies and getting the word out.

Dr. Pennington says they're jumping to conclusions but appreciates the support.

Every October the board votes whether to renew his contract.

The board of regent’s chairman says this is news to him.

Still, students are planning to rally before their next board meeting on Tuesday.
