Sherman Names New Superintendent

09-18-06 – The Sherman Independent School District named Dr. Al Hambrick as their new superintendent on Monday. The district held a news conference Monday where they introduced the longtime employee.

Hambrick replaces former superintendent Rodney Hutto, who he worked under as high school principal.

Hambrick has been with the district for 26 years and has been interim superintendent since Hutto resigned 2 months ago.

Hambrick has also served as a math teacher, coach, principal, and assistant superintendent.

Following state law, the board says Dr. Hambrick will officially be hired and sign his new contract in 21-days.
