9-20-06 - The Denison Development Alliance has created a new way to attract high-tech business to the area. The DDA unveiled a new program called the Texoma Technical Enterprise Council.
With Ruiz Foods and Terex Re-Drill coming to town over the past year, there has been plenty of good economic news in Denison. The DDA says this decision will only bring more good news.
Current mayor Robert Brady, former mayor Bill Lindsey, as well as former executives from Texas Instruments, Raytheon and Verizon, are a part of this council. Their goal is to attract high-tech businesses like those to Denison, and in doing so increase the income of the people that live there. The challenge will be selling the city that has yet to see a lot of business like the ones they are pursuing.
The TTEC has partnered with the University of Texas at Dallas to talk to some of their research students. They hope one day those students will be the entrepreneurs that bring high tech industry to Denison.
