For one day, KXII anchors and reporters became firefighters in Ardmore.

City firefighters hosted their first annual Media Day, opening their training grounds during the morning and afternoon.

Matt Brown, Lisanne Anderson, morning anchor Diana Zoga, along with reporters Zach Anderson and Keaton Long learned first hand what firefighters face in emergency situations.

From repelling down a five-story building to using hydraulic extraction equipment on a car, media members got their hands dirty. Fire crews also demonstrated hoses and their ladder truck.

One of the most challenging elements of the day was a smoke rescue. Participants went into a smoke-filled tower in pairs, armed with heat sensing equipment, and rescued a ‘victim.’
