Sherman Child Killed During Parade

10-2-06 - A five-year-old Sherman girl was killed during the Frontier Day Parade in Pottsboro Saturday morning. Adrianna Bounds was walking alongside a float and trailer with her dance group when she tried to climb on board the trailer. She slipped and fell and the trailer rolled on top of her.

Several onlookers tried to help, but she died while being Careflighted to Dallas Children's Hospital. On Monday, teachers at her school, Wakefield Elementary, had counselors on hand to help students deal with the loss of a such a young girl.

The rosary and visitation for Adrianna will be held Tuesday night from 6 to 8:30pm at the Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 11am in St Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman.
