A combination of very strong winds, falling temperatures and frozen precipitation will make Wednesday and Wednesday night dangerous for motorists. Freezing rain and sleet will change to snow before ending late Wednesday or early Thursday. Wind chills of 5 to 10 degrees...with air temperatures in the low 20s...can be expected. Roads will be icy Thursday morning but should melt during the day as skies clear and temperatures rise above freezing.
10-3-06 - Grayson County lawmen used a taser to control a man who punched a police officer and a deputy early Monday morning. It happened at the Whitesboro truck stop along Highway 82.
Deputies say 62-year-old Johnny Lee Freeman of McKinney was harassing waitresses and customers. At one point, he was pointing a rifle at people.
Whitesboro Police arrested him, but when it came time to transfer him to Grayson County deputies, officers say Freeman punched one lawman in the eye and hit a deputy in the arm and chest.
Deputies had to use a taser to calm him down. He's charged with deadly conduct, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and two counts of assault on a public servant.
