10-04-06 - A Johnston County man could spend the rest of his life in prison for a crime spree last year.
A jury convicted Demetrius Taylor on five counts, including kidnapping and assault. In August 2005, police say he and jerry McKinney escaped from jail and carjacked a woman by gunpoint.
They were caught later that night west of Sulphur. Taylor was already serving a 25-year sentence for 2nd degree murder. The jury recommended he serve life in prison this time.
A sentencing hearing is set for November 8th.
