Manhunt for Accused Murderer

11/10/03 - Authorities in southern Oklahoma are searching for a man they believe murdered a 21-year-old woman in Colbert Saturday night.

Around 11 p.m., Bryan County investigators say Tabitha Himes was shot once in the head in front of her home on the corner of Maupin and Godfrey Streets.

They've filed charges against the woman's common-law husband, 34-year-old Leslie Cross, who is also the father of Himes' seven-month-old child.

A witness, who also lived in the home, says Cross fired one shot from an SKS assault rifle. The bullet went through the door and hit Himes in the head.

Authorities have been searching for Cross, who they believe is from Frisco, Texas, since late last night, but so far, he has eluded authorities.
