Water Park Could Be in Sherman's Future

11-10-03
A water park could be coming to Grayson County as soon as 2005.

A water park has been part of Sherman's strategic plan for years but this year is different. Horizon incorporated, a company that already owns two water parks in north Texas, is looking to build a third.

The seven to eight acre park would create as many as 90 seasonal jobs. Now the city's looking for a suitable location for such a park. They're considering highly visible areas like Highways 75 and 82.

The project is in the most preliminary stages and it would be summer 2005 if and when construction began. City officials stress that no deal has been made yet but they are optimistic that people in Sherman may soon be having a lot more fun in the sun.

Horizon incorporated operates water parks in Garland, Texas and Dallas.
