Early Voting Begins in Texas

10-23-06 UNDATED (AP) - Early voting for the November 7th General Elections began Monday statewide.

The balloting in all races will continue through the end of the
day Friday, November 03, 2006.

Some registered voters may cast their ballots by mail. To vote
by mail, a voter must at least age 65, disabled, out of the county
on election day and during the period for in-person early voting by
personal appearance, or confined in jail but otherwise eligible.

Ballot entries and early voting polling places can be checked on
the Texas Secretary of State's Web site.
