10-23-06 October has been the deadliest month for U.S. forces in Iraq this year. On Monday, one of those casualties was laid to rest in Leonard, Texas.
Second Lieutenant Johnny Craver who was born in McKinney died on October 13 when an IED went off close to his vehicle. But family and friends say he was doing what he loved at the time, fighting for his country.
Funeral services were held this morning at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in McKinney. After the ceremony, a procession of nearly 100 cars traveled to Leonard where his family had a longtime farm. He was honored at the local cemetery with a full military burial.
