10-24-06- A Texas woman died this afternoon when the vehicle in which she was riding flipped after its trailer hitch broke along Interstate 35 in Garvin County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 22-year-old Keri King of
Denton, Texas, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 23-year-old
Michael Leary of Denton.
The OHP says the vehicle was northbound on I-35 shortly after
noon when its trailer hitch broke, causing the trailer to jackknife
and come around to the driver's side.
The vehicle then flipped 2-and-one-half times before coming to
rest on its top.
King died at the scene after being pinned in the wreckage for 30
minutes. Leary was pinned for 45 minutes and was taken to an
Oklahoma City hospital, where he's listed in stable condition.
