Former Pontotoc County Sheriff Dies

The following is a news release from the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office:

Retired Pontotoc County Sheriff Jeff Glase, age 53, passed away during the evening of October 30, 2006, after suffering from a recent terminal illness.

In early April 2006, Sheriff Jeff Glase was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor that was untreatable. Sheriff Glase held all positions while serving with the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office, from Reserve Deputy, to full time Deputy Sheriff, Undersheriff, and 12 years as the Sheriff.

Sheriff Glase had over 23 years of faithful service to the citizens of Pontotoc County and was also a U.S. Army veteran. Sheriff Glase leaves behind his wife Marsha, a son Tim, a step-daughter Jenae, and several grandchildren. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Funeral arraignments are pending with the Southwest Church of Christ in Ada.
