Two upper level waves will interact with a warm and very moist air mass to generate thunderstorms through Saturday. Lightning and torrential rainfall that could cause flash flooding are the primary threats...with a secondary threat of damaging winds. Turn around, don't drown!
A trash pick-up quickly turned into a large blaze Wednesday morning.
It happened around 6:30a.m on the Buck Owens Expressway just West of Loy Lake Road in Sherman.
Officials say the blaze started after a trash pickup near the Sherman Town Center. Something flammable in the truck exploded, causing everything else to catch fire.
The trash was then removed from the truck and placed into an open area out of harms way. It will be disposed properly after an investigation.
Aubrey Henderson, Superintendent of Sherman Solid Waste Department says, “Tear this load part. They will put foam on it. Then re-load it and monitor it for a few hours or all day before we dispose of it."
Officials say hazardous materials were not involved. The fire is still under investigation.
