A combination of very strong winds, falling temperatures and frozen precipitation will make Wednesday and Wednesday night dangerous for motorists. Freezing rain and sleet will change to snow before ending late Wednesday or early Thursday. Wind chills of 5 to 10 degrees...with air temperatures in the low 20s...can be expected. Roads will be icy Thursday morning but should melt during the day as skies clear and temperatures rise above freezing.
11-1-06 - The city of Sherman has finished a new project that will link major developments in the future. The city linked a lake, athletic fields and an elementary school with sidewalks.
Just this week they completed one and a half miles of sidewalk that start at Herman Baker Park, wind down Center Street and end at Binkley Park.
Of course Herman Baker has its lake. Binkley is a newer park that is being developed and will also be the site of a new elementary school.
Add to that these athletic fields that the city recently acquired and the sidewalks will provide a safe way to get between each spot for park goers or even children that go to that new elementary school and eventually to nearby neighborhoods.
The project cost a total of 165-thousand dollars in last year’s budget.
