Two upper level waves will interact with a warm and very moist air mass to generate thunderstorms through Saturday. Lightning and torrential rainfall that could cause flash flooding are the primary threats...with a secondary threat of damaging winds. Turn around, don't drown!
A six-car pileup on us 75 between Sherman and Denison ended with one of the vehicles rolling off an overpass and falling 18 feet.
It happened Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Loy Lake and 75. Police say a semi-truck set off a chain reaction and for one driver, ended with a long drop.
The semi-truck was southbound on seventy five when it ran into an SUV, sending the SUV over the side of the Loy Lake Bridge. Then the truck hit a red pickup which started a chain reaction involving three more cars getting rear-ended.
Police closed the bridge and diverted traffic along the access road. Amazingly, none of the drivers suffered serious injuries, including the driver who went off the 19-foot overpass onto the grass below. Police credit that news to the fact that the driver was securely buckled in.
