11-6-06 - The trial has begun for a Grayson County man accused in a drunk driving accident from October of 2005. Timothy Whitmore faces two counts of intoxicated assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police say on October 13th, 2005, Whitmore's pick-up slammed into a pick-up carrying 19-year-old Chase Ward and 22-year-old Justin McKenzie. Both men suffered serious head and internal injuries, and still live with their injuries to this day.
Whitmore will be tried separately for the assaults. On Monday, witnesses testified to what happened that night.
If convicted, he could receive a maximum of 40 years in prison.
