Veterans Honored Across Texoma

11-9-06 - Two days before Veterans Day, vets of all ages were honored on both sides of the Red River. Hundreds attended a gathering on Friday at the Bonham High School football stadium.

The annual regional Veterans Day program is hosted by the VA north Texas Health Care System and The Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center.

The program included a B-1 flyover from Dyess Air Force Base and an honor guard.

In Carter County, a local employer honored its workers who were also veterans

V-E Enterprises in Springer acknowledged 29 veterans who served in all branches of the armed forces.

Each received a plaque for his dedication and Admiral Wesley Hull of Ardmore served as keynote speaker.

This is the company's first year to celebrate Veterans Day like this. They hope to make it a tradition.
