11-13-06 - The Sherman Economic Development Corporation reached an agreement on Monday with Consolidated Container company that will keep the plastic bottle manufacturing plant in Sherman for the next 12 years.
SEDCO also agreed to pay the company $100,000 so they would retain their 103 jobs. The plant has been in Sherman for 18 years. This is a move that they hope to make with other companies in Sherman. Officials know how much of a high commodity industry is to small communities.
The lease calls for the company to stay on their current property. Consolidated Containers is located to the east of Highway 75 across from Tyson Foods.
