11-14-06 - Students at Dillingham Intermediate School learned about Iraq firsthand today. Sergeant Bill Mullens visited his mom's fifth grade class thanking them for the cards and goodies they sent to him while he was away.
Mullens had instruments and pictures to show off as the students asked questions about life in Iraq the people there and the weather. While he was in Iraq he saw kids without shoes running in the streets. So the kids sent clothes, shoes and candy to Mullens and he passed it out to Iraqi kids.
Mullens said temperatures in Iraq got as high as a hundred forty degrees, so it's nice to be in the cooler weather back home.
