Lorretta Lynn Coming to Durant

The following is a news release from Event Marketing Group:

DURANT, OKLA—Choctaw Casinos is proud to announce that country music icon Loretta Lynn will be performing live Friday, December 8 at the Choctaw Coliseum.

Known the world over as “the coal miner’s daughter,” Loretta Lynn grew up during the depression with a family that struggled to survive. Her music often brings out the grit of her hard life growing up, the joys and struggles of being a strong woman, and a realism that few artists today can achieve.

Since the 1960s, Loretta Lynn has had a spree of top ten hit singles, including “Success,” “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man),” “One’s on the Way,” “Hello Darlin’,” and her most famous song that spawned an Oscar-willing film, “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” In her career, she has had twenty-one number one songs on the country music chart.

After spending much of the last fifteen years relatively away from the limelight, Lynn recently made a comeback with her 2004 album, “Van Lear Rose.” Collaborating with Jack White from the rock band The White Stripes, the album has crossed genres and even received some radio play on rock stations.

Tickets range from $25 to $45 and are available at the Choctaw Coliseum, inside the casino gift shop or online at www.choctawcoliseum.com, or they can be charged by phone at 1-800-595-4TIX (4849). The Coliseum box office is located 3 miles south of Durant, Oklahoma on 69/75.

This concert has been rescheduled from its original date in July. Tickets purchased for July 28th concert date will be honored for the rescheduled concert date of December 8th.
