11-17-06 - United States Attorney Matthew D. Orwig announced today that a 38-year-old Sherman woman has been sentenced to 15 months in federal prison for threatening a witness in the Eastern District of Texas. TINA ANN JONES was sentenced late yesterday by United States District Judge Michael A. Schneider.
According to court documents, Jones made several threatening phone calls to a witness in a pending case. She was indicted by a federal grand jury and pleaded guilty on April 25, 2006 to tampering with an informant by intimidation, physical force, threats or misleading conduct.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua T. Burgess.
