11-21-06 - The Chickasaw Nation has plans to build a $130 Million health center near Ada.
On Monday the tribe's legislature voted to borrow $90 Million dollars to help pay for the 71 bed hospital. The health center will serve all members of federally recognized tribes and feature updated medical technology including MRI and CT scans.
Last year the Chickasaw Nation treated more than 330,000 patients, and officials expect that number to double in the next decade.
Construction for the facility will begin next spring.
