NORTH TEXAS -- Five men have now been arrested and charged with cattle rustling after a string of cattle thefts in Fannin and Delta Counties.

Delta County Deputies and special rangers from the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association arrested Terry Wynne and James Shaffer of Terrell, Charles Williams and Jonathan Jones of Cooper and John Green of Klondike.

Authorities say 26 head of cattle were stolen from five victims in Delta County and 10 more stolen from two people in Fannin County.

32 of the 36 head of cattle have been returned to their owners.

Delta County Sheriff Ricky Smith said, "In several occasions they were absentee land owners, you know maybe lived in another location and came and checked the cattle periodically. Most of them were stolen at night."

All suspects, except Green, have bonded out of jail.

Green remains in custody in Fannin County on a $105,000 bond.

Authorities expect charges to be filed on one more suspect.
