12-27-06 Paris City Council members are getting set to hear the case of embattled city manager Tony Williams. City leaders met tonight behind closed doors to dicuss Williams' termination.
Mayor Richard Manning said city leaders have talked to the city attorny to make sure they follow city protocol at a public hearing scheduled for tomorrow night.
Earlier this month, Paris council members voted to fire Williams. Williams has asked for a public hearing to clear his name.
Mayor Manning says council members lost confidence in Williams and that Williams also earned low performance evaluations because he failed to keep council members informed on city work.
The public hearing is scheduled for tomorrow evening at 6. They mayor says the meeting won't reverse Williams' termination, and council members hope to name an interim manager sometime next month.
