1-2-07 Following the funeral, firefighters from across the state gathered at Central Fire Station in Denison for the last call for Phillip Townsend. He was called out for the last time over police and fire radios. Last Call is a tradition among firefighters and law enforcement; it’s a way to show respect for a fallen comrade. Phillip Townsend’s last call went out over Denison’s emergency radios at 3:28 pm Tuesday afternoon. The Last Call came just before a procession headed to Kemp, Oklahoma where Townsend was laid to rest. Many of those same firefighters, friends, and family members gathered at the Kemp Cemetery to say their last goodbye to the 31-year old.
