1-5-07 Major changes are on the way for Austin College. The school already has plans to build a new pedestrian entrance and graduation court which should be completed by the middle of 2007. Now Austin College officials have recently broken ground on a 24-thousand square foot, $3.5 million art center. The new state of the art facility is possible thanks to a $2 million donation from Dennis and Betsy Forster. Betsy graduated from Austin College back in 1965. In addition to the art center, the college is finalizing plans on a 100-thousand square foot science building that is estimated to cost over $30 million. Austin College officials say they also plan on renovating the baseball field later in 2007.
