Outraged residents in Lamar County are looking for answers over what some are calling animal cruelty. Concerned neighbors say they have found horses that are dying due to neglect.
Neighbors who live near a pasture in Lamar County near Paris say they began to notice the nineteen stallions in poor conditions about four months ago. They took action after the animals worsened.
Two were moved and rescued, and others had visible signs of neglect . In recent pictures the grass in the pastures appeared very low, and neighbors say they have seen the horses eating their own feces.
Lamar County Sheriff's Officials sat at least four horses have already died. It's unclear as to whether this is a case of neglect or intentional cruelty.
