1-12-07 After three weeks of searching, still no word on the whereabouts of Bryan County Jail escapee Richard Kramer. State officials say that closing the jail might be the only solution left. State supervisor of jail inspection, Don Garrison told KXII that the Oklahoma state health department is in the process of determining whether or not to move forward with a recommendation to close the Bryan County Jail. He says a final decision from the health department will come down after several on-going investigations are completed and those results sent to the state. Garrison says that the state has already tried to put pressure on the jail through the fines levied at the end of last year, but that didn't seem to get the message across. Authorities say in this past year alone15 inmates escaped from the jail.
