Area firefighters are some of the busiest folks in the region this holiday. Along with weather-related minor accidents being reported, there were two major fires in Grayson County on Sunday.
The Sherman Fire Department received the call around 6 p.m. Sunday evening. The fire was at Craig Hall on the northwest part of Austin College's campus.
Sherman Fire Chief Jeff Jones says a mechanical motor started the fire. Parts of the building's attic and roof were damaged. No injuries were reported, but crews from Pottsboro, Bells, Denison, Whitesboro, and Howe all helped put out the fire.
Meanwhile in Denison a house fire was reported late Sunday at Shepherd and Barrett. No word on the extent of the damage or any injuries.
