Economic Outlook Sharp in Sherman

11-24-03 - There is good economic news for Sherman.
City leaders say sales tax revenues are up and at the same time businesses are expanding and creating new jobs.
For the fifth straight month sales taxes have exceeded the amount from the same month last year.
At the Sherman Economic Development Corporation's meeting Monday night, three companies received payments for creating jobs and expanding infrastructure.
Attention LLC, Omega Industries, and Cooper B-line received almost $300,000 for creating 40 jobs and $1.5 million dollars in infrastructure.
Sedco entered into a contract with MEMC, but tabled discussion about a deal with Comercial Aircraft equipment.
MEMC stands to gain over $350,000 from Sedco if they spend a little over $8 million in capital investments.

Children’s Center Honors Volunteers
