CARTER CO, OK -- Tuesday's hazard mitigation meetings also marked the first day of work for Carter County's new Emergency Management Director.

Paul Tucker is no stranger to Carter County. He grew up in Healdton, and worked closely with county leaders as a volunteer with the Sky Warn Storm Team.

Tucker tells us he's excited about the opportunity and is looking forward to serving the people in the area he calls home.

"I'd like to thank the Carter County commissioners for the opportunity to fill this position," Tucker said. "I understand I was one of ten applicants. I'm thankful they're giving me the opportunity to serve the citizens of carter county."

Local leaders we talked to say Tucker has all the necessary state qualifications, and he's already certified on the county's radar system.
