Body Found: Could Be Man Missing Since 1990

12-5-03 - Deputies with the Cooke County Sheriffs Office uncovered human remains Thursday night that may reveal some answers in a decade long mystery. Law enforcement began digging in the back yard of a home on county road 163 in the town of Oak Ridge after receiving a tip that the remains of Randel Pardue may be buried there.

Pardue has been missing since April of 1990. Authorities had already ruled his disappearance a homicide but were never able to find the body.

Deputies continued their investigation Friday morning. They started pulling up the front porch of the home using a metal detector to search for any evidence. Authorities say they do believe they know who committed the crime.

They say the occupants of the home are not suspects in the case.
