Suspect Shot After Chase in Marietta

12-9-03 - A man who could be connected to an Ardmore bank robbery was shot after a chase through Marietta on Monday. But federal agents aren't releasing much information. The story began Monday afternoon around 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., when authorities were trying to serve a search warrant for a parole violation to 53 year old Fredrick Allen Gruber, who had lived in Marietta for four months. He then tried to get away in a car.

Eventually, authorities opened fire on the man, hitting him in the neck. He was taken from the scene, and was treated and released from the hospital. Gruber was transported from the Carter County Jail to the Love County Jail. First News has learned that the man is being questioned in regard to the July 21st bank robbery in Ardmorel.
